This is a small story about how not every promise can be kept. That the red string of fate can be wrong or it can be redirected.
Unfortunately not all promises can be fulfilled no matter how much the one who promised it wants to. Or how much they say they will, cause the truth is there always a small lie behind a promise.
The red string of fate is the small line connecting you to your 'soulmate'
But it can be cut! Or redirected to someone else. When a string is cut, the person who was gonna be your forever love has died for proved themselves not worthy for your love. If this happens the red string will find you a new one who will treat you much better than the other or who is alive.
Life can be a heck hole sometimes but for this person it was in their final moments, for they died in battle trying to keep a empire from dieing. They had made a promise to come home to a special child.
The holy roman empire was this person's name. Their human is long forgotten, even by the ones who gave him the name.
Holy rome had to go to battle to keep from dieing, but before he left he made a promise to a young italy to come home safely back to he(r). They had closed the promise with a kiss.
Holy rome had every intent to keep his promise to italy and to make it back to see he(r) again. So he fought hard and long. His opponent was france who had known of the romans love and wanted to help him get back but, unfortunately he couldn't let that happen cause if he did france himself would have to die.
They both fought long and hard battles, for they both made the same promise to come home safely. But only one kept their promise.
When france landed the killing blow, he gave the holy roman empire a sad smile and said
"I'm so sorry i hope one day you'll forgive me. But for now rest in peace knowing that your italy will be safe."
The roman who the frenchman thought would spit at him, smiled at him and said
"I have already forgiven you, francis. Thank you for your kindness and take care of italia for (s)he is a fragile flower, who the word needs not to wilt."
France nodded and laid holy rome's head down on his flag and draped him in another and set him down the river.
Francis looked on as he saw the empire disappear from view and became history.
France kept his promise to his loved one, but he ended up breaking another one's.
To this day france regrets his actions, and wishes he could tell italy that he was the one who helped break holy rome's promise.
But for last he can't cause he knows that telling italy the truth would hurt him more then letting him believe that the empire just left.
For there was a lie behind this promise
