Authors Note: My contribution to the Christmas cheer, on Christmas day. This takes place after the finish of the series where I assume the 00 cyborgs have defeated Black Ghost. Since I haven't watched the entire second part of the series, I'm not quite sure. Enjoy!

Title: A nouveau commencement

One Shot

Dear Doctor Gilmore,

            As I write this letter, I look at the Christmas tree before me. Its colored lights twinkling in beauty, golden ribbons riveting down its branches. It reminds me, peculiarly so, of my last visit to France, on that Christmas Eve. How are you doing this jovial Christmas day? My new address is; 1448 Brimington Avenue, Paris, France and yes, I did receive you lovely gift before I left. The ballerina shoes are facing me, on my Oakwood shelf, as I write this.

            I heard that the others also went their separate ways, unable to contact them though, I haven't heard from them either. But if going their own way makes them happy then I am glad. If you happen to come in contact with them, please distribute my new address to them, and likewise. Coming back home makes me feel liberates and perhaps that is what they are seeking. I've found out though, we could never return to what we want so badly, I hope that they've found out as well. By the way, could you send my greeting to 001, if he is dubiously, awake?

            I miss you all so much; I couldn't possibly describe it in words.  You all have become family to me throughout this painful battle that we have endured. Now though, it's over, and we can live in peace. Paris is no longer my home, but wherever all of you are. I wish we could gather frequently, but gathering everyone would be a difficult task, especially 002. Silly how we still use numbers to label ourselves, I guess they've become our identities to each other and to the struggle that we've surpassed to regain our humanity.

            Perhaps we can start over, to a nouveau commencement; a new beginning. I'm performing at the theater this Saturday, hope you can come.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Your little Ballerina,

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Françoise Arnoul

I put down the letter reluctantly, sealing it with wishes, emotions, and past sorrow. There was a soft knock at the door. I went rapidly, and opened the door. There stood a package with a card addressed to me. It read;

Merry Christmas Francoise, see you soon.

Always and forever yours,

Joe Shimamura

A smile escaped me as I leaned on the wall. Whether we could start again, time could only tell. For now though, my answer was,

Yes.

Authors Note: Well, here is my contribution to the Christmas spirit. True, it's terribly done, but I tried. Happy holidays, happy Hanukah, and happy new years to all. You've all made this, my very first Christmas at Fanfiction.net, a wonderful one.
