Today is SpongeBob Squarepants' birthday. All of SpongeBob's friends are in on a surprise that is going to take place at SpongeBob's pineapple. It is now 8:30pm. The time SpongeBob gets off of his fry cook job at the local restaurant, The Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs and Squidward got off of work early to go on a special "errand." SpongeBob was instructed to lock up after he was done cleaning. All of the gang crowded into SpongeBob's house and found a spot to hide. The lights were turned off. The sound of SpongeBob twisting the key and unlocking the door was the only sound heard throughout the dark house. SpongeBob walked in, and right as he turned on the lights,

"SURPRISE!"

SpongeBob giggled with joy.

"Thanks you guys! I wasn't expecting this!" said SpongeBob

"You weren't supposed to be expecting it. It's a surprise party." Said Squidward

"Happy Birthday, buddy!" yelled Patrick.

"Thanks Pat."

Into the kitchen went the gang to eat cake.

"Alright are you ready for cake?" said Sandy.

"For sure!" SpongeBob exclaimed.

"Okey-dokey then!" Sandy said. Sandy walked toward the refrigerator and while glancing at SpongeBob she said:

"Close your eyes now."

Sandy dug through seemingly endless piles of jellyfish jelly, and other food items, only to find her hidden surprise cake missing.

"Well that's peculiar…" Sandy said with a puzzled face.

"I could've sworn it was here a minute ago!" she said worriedly.

"Well maybe someone ate it." Squidward said. Everybody turned their head toward Patrick.

"What?" he asked. "All I had today was a Krabby Meal from the Krusty Krab."

"I remember that." Said SpongeBob.

"Well where could it have gone?" Sandy said.

"Wasn't Plankton supposed to be here?" Patrick asked.

"Yeah." Sandy said. She was whispering to herself beneath her breath. "He is a trouble maker."

"Wasn't Plankton here for the surprise?" Mr. Krabs said.

"I don't know where Plankton went, and if he's up to anything suspicious." Sandy declared.

"Something tells me that he's up to no good." Said Mr. Krabs

"I guess we'll have to find out." SpongeBob added.
