My feet were running as fast as they could, I'venever felt this much adrenaline surging through my own body before. My hair was flying behind me as the wind was gently flying past. It didn't matter were I was going I just had to carry on. I pasted
a fence and quickly jumped over nearly knocking my backpackoff. I started wheezing and realised I had to slow down. I perchedmyself on a log and rested my face in my arms. After a pause I raised my head and looked about I was in a forest.
The sky was filled with stars, I sighed it looked like I managed to escape the pack of clickers. I hurled my bag on my lap and looked through it. I pulled out an ice pick and began to climb a small but tall enough tree to sleep on. I reached the top and
pulled a blanket over myself.
I woke to darkness and shushed voices. Sounded rough like older men's. I heard the small slow crunches of their footsteps as my eyes adjusted.
"David, what are we looking for exactly"
"Food and supplies the usual thing" a harsh man snapped back at him
"Right but I thought you said that we had plent...*snap*...what was that"
Dammit. The twig I was restingon hadsnapped and I nearly fell. I tried to cower down as far as I could but I couldn't do anything when I was a on tree. I blocked out the whispers of the three men and got my backpack and put my blanket
in and took out my ice pick. I went to the opposite side to the tree and started to climb down.
Suddenly, I lost my footing on a branch and flew down banging my head at the bottom. My head was spinning and pounding but I slowly got up. I turned to start running but something was already blocking my path. I looked up and saw a oldish scrawny
looking guy grinningdown at me.
"David's the name, what about you little doll"
I flinched at his words and replied. "Nia"
