An extremely, extremely tiny bit of AU. Very slight AsuKira,
This song is a piano song taken from a book.
Start.
Go to sleep my pretty eyes, dreams come soon.
Kira likes the sky, especially when it's nighttime, when the stars are overhead, hanging bright in the dark sky. There will be bright city lights all over the place and the round moon accompanying it, and he loves the breathtaking view.
That's why, even in the large battleship he's in, he's glad that there's the sky. The view is even prettier from there than on Earth. He feels like he can just extend his arm and touch the stars, but it always run into the glass window and he has to carry it back to his side.
Say goodnight to the starry skies, goodnight to the moon.
He is reluctant when sleep overcomes him. He doesn't want the sky to change to the starless sky when he wakes up. So he tries not to sleep, but his eyelids fell and his eyes shut without him knowing it.
Sail across the sea of dreams to the morning light,
Even when he doesn't want to sleep, the stars bring him pretty dreams with star-filled sky and the soft breeze. He remembers, the next day, that the dream he has is sweet, his best friend and him sitting at the edge of the cliff with cherry blossom tress overhead, the gentle soothing wind carrying the petals in the air, and he feels like he doesn't want to wake up, ever.
But it's different now. When Kira feels sleepy, he is scared. The dreams he had has been replaced by terrifying nightmares, and even when he wishes to wake up, to escape back into reality, he finds himself unable to do so, and ends up screaming, crying alone in his room. When he wakes up, the crusted, dried tears trailing down to his cheeks, he still can't save himself from the nightmares—it still happens, when he sleeps or when he's awake.
Dream—Dream—
He feels miserable, lonely, and horror-filled. His best friend isn't there to hug him and soothe him like how he used to, he's Kira's enemy now. He needs to fight, needs to protect, even when he doesn't want to he has power and he needs to use it to save his friends on board.
But the horror of fighting against Athrun, until the point of wanting to kill each other, made his heart ache, and he's crying and weeping but he's still fighting, he has to, and Athrun is screaming his name, and Kira feels like his ears are about to burst from the tone he used. It's filled with pain and hatred, and it's breaking his heart, shattering it into millions of tiny little pieces.
But at least, when he closes his eyes this time, he knows that he won't need to fight Athrun anymore, and he can just escape from everything.
Say good night...
There is a loud explosion, and Kira lets Athrun shout out his name, and lets out the last of his tears, lets the blazing fire lick his body to ash, lets the metals pierce his body, lets everything to fall into darkness and thinks about the time under the moonlit sky and the cherry blossoms, and the laughs and giggles they shared…
Say goodnight.
…Lets the stars vanish into his dreams forever.
End.
Doesn't make sense, but I need to write something.
Please review.
