Her Favorite
This is Éowyn's favorite of Faramir's clothes: the long, blue coat with its border of leaves and flowers embroidered in golden thread. The rich color perfectly suits his hair and complexion, she thinks.
Just now it is draped over the back of a chair in their bedchamber. Afternoon sunlight slants in upon it through the window, making the embroidery seem almost to glow. Éowyn smiles lazily at the sight and nestles deeper into her husband's embrace, laying her head on his bare chest. The only thing she likes better than the blue coat is when he wears nothing at all.
NOTE: Written for a Livejournal community challenge on the subject "Clothes" (September 30, 2006). Inspired, obviously, by Faramir's movie costume at the coronation, though I think book-Faramir would look equally good in dark blue!
