Arthur Kirkland had known Francis Bonnefoy for many years. The two of them were inseparable. Over the years Arthur had become quite fond of Francis. Francis was dear and near to Arthur's heart. Arthur loved Francis..

Arthur held on to Francis' arm tightly as they walked down the aisle. He was nervous, hence why he was holding on so tightly to the Frenchman's arm. As they reached the end of the aisle the preacher said, "Arthur, do you give Francis to be married to this man?" The preacher made a gesture towards the silver-haired Prussian man named Gilbert that was standing to the right of him. Arthur looked over to Francis in hopes that his love had changed his mind. When the Englishman stared into his true loves deep blue eyes he noticed that Francis' gaze were was fixed on Gilbert. There was no hope that Francis would ever be Arthur's..

"I do.." Arthur finally said.

Francis smiled at his friend, and Arthur took his place at the altar beside him. Today Arthur lost his love forever..

The reception was beautiful. Arthur had planned it for weeks in hopes that Francis would change his mind and marry him instead. But alas Arthur's love had not changed his mind, and now the newly wed couple was dancing to the music Arthur had picked out. The young and heartbroken man walked to the bar and ordered a scotch. He drank the beverage in one gulp and then he ordered another.

"Artie, you know you can't hold your liquor. I think you've had enough." a man with a think German accent said.

Arthur chuckled and ordered three more alcoholic beverages. "I'll tell you when I've had enough, Ludwig!"
