Today was the day Lucy realized something was wrong with her. The feeling had been growing for quite some time, but she had put it to the back of her mind, having not been able to come up with an explanation. Her heart would start to beat faster, her peachy skin would flush a bright red, her palms would get sweaty and her knees would become weak. Lucy had felt the same way before with other guys, but never as strong as it was right now. And she just couldn't figure out why. Of all the men at Fairy Tail, she wasn't particularly attracted to any of them.
Sure, Gray had a nice body, and even she would admit that she could see why Levy liked Gajeel so much. But other than that, her mind came up blank. As she thought harder about the situation, an idea finally struck her. Could it possibly be…Natsu? In her mind, she pictured him, her team-mate. The image of him stood there with his arms crossed over his chest, his biceps flexing slightly. His eyes were narrow, and she would have guessed he was pissed off, if it weren't for the insanely wide grin that stretched across his lips. His red hair stuck out in every possible direction, knowing all too well that he never felt the need to brush it.
Lucy pictured his fiery personality, the way he was calm one second and ready to start a brawl the next. How he was brave, even in the face of danger, like he never even considered the fact that failure was an option. That just wasn't him. He didn't believe he could fail, and so far he hadn't been proved wrong. And when she thought of how genuinely kind he was, her heart took off. Lucy could feel the blush creeping over her chest, and crawling up her neck. It hit her like a wrecking ball. She liked Natsu. She, Lucy Heartfelia, liked him, Natsu Dragneel. Her head collapsed onto the bar at the thought of it, and she entered a daze. She could faintly hear Mira-Jane calling her name, worried, but it didn't matter at the moment. What mattered the most?
How this realization would affect their team.
