A/N: Hello! This little fic came from an ask on tumblr (thursday-drinks if anyone wants to follow ). For the moment it will stay as a one-shot, but maybe it won't… who knows?

Anyhow, thank YOU for reading!

To everyone's eye Quinn Fabray had everything anyone could ask for, she graduated as valedictorian both in highschool and college, she had her dream job, she owned a home for herself, she had supportive friends, and had nothing to worry about; but she still felt there was something missing, something she had yet to find, to figure out, to discover, to wake her up…

She was out and about in the city, (habit she had picked up from her college years), with no other company than her camera and her own thoughts. She felt she was still missing on many things the city had to offer, New York was a place of mystery and adventures and she always tried to make the best of it.

She was just about to go back to her place when she spotted a little cafe on the corner of the street.

Weird - She thought. She must've passed that street a dozen times and she had never noticed it.

She tried to walk the other way but there was something pulling her towards it, and if she had learnt something from the city it was that, at times, it spoke to you, guiding you and she wasn't going to ignore it.

As soon she entered the place, her attention was caught by a little brunette woman talking animatedly with other people on the side of the stage, she couldn't hear what they were saying but there was just something about the other woman that hypnotized her. A younger man approached the brunette with a sheet of paper and Quinn couldn't help her smile when the boy's eyes lit up as the brunette signed the paper and hugged him goodbye… and it happened, their eyes made contact and for a brief second Quinn was so stunned she almost dropped her camera, she felt her heart stutter and her stomach flutter and she was sure she saw a spark on the other woman's eyes before she turned to the stage.

"Excuse me, - She said to the barista - Who is that girl? What's her name?"

"Oh, she's Rachel Berry…"

There was something else the barista said but Quinn wasn't listening.

Rachel…. There was something about that girl that had hooked Quinn and she couldn't take her eyes off of her.

Rachel got up to the stage and moved around connecting cables and setting up mics, Quinn assumed she was going to sing and she took the most centered table she could take.

What is it about her? - Quinn couldn't understand, in her 24 years she had never felt like that about anyone or anything else, maybe this was the adventure the city was offering her, maybe Rachel held the key to her awakening, maybe…

The moment Rachel started singing Quinn's train of thought was lost, the woman was not only gorgeous but she had the most amazing voice she had ever, and would ever listen to. She felt the urge to just stand up and capture the moment with her camera; she placed the object so that she could take the picture and through the lens of the camera she saw Rachel looking right at her. Big, expressive, deep brown eyes staring at her soul and her heart stopped for a second before beating again with more intensity..

Oh… - Quinn lowered the camera and smiled - So this is it then.
