Cade's Birthday Surprise
Today's my birthday, so I thought I'd have Cade be celebrating her birthday, since Cade's character is both similar and an extension of my own character. Just an idea I thought I'd try.
Read and review please.
Title: Cade's Birthday
Genre: Family
Author: writergirl142
Central Characters: Caden "Cade", Merlin, Arthur Pendragon, Guinevere "Gwen", Gaius, Hunith, Andret, Cai, Micheal, Astrid, Gwaine, Percival, Elyan, Leon
Summery: It's Cade's birthday, but she can't find any of her friends. Arthur, Gwen, Micheal, Astrid, Gwaine, Percival, Elyan, and Leon are gone. Even Gaius and Merlin are missing. And no one seems to know where they are. Where are her brother, uncle and friends? What could Merlin be planning?
When Cade woke up that morning, she was feeling pretty good. Not only was the sun shining bright, but she felt that everything would go right for once today. Only Merlin and Gaius could possibly know why she felt so good.
Today was Cade's eighteenth birthday and it was actually one of Cade's best days she could ever have in her life.
Cade's birthday was one of Cade's best days for one reason: because it was one of the few days where Cade's magic stayed under control. Normally, Cade's magic was wild and unpredictable, and she usually found keeping it under control difficult.
There was just one thing out of place at the current moment: when Cade walked out of her and Merlin's room, her brother and her uncle were no where to be found. It was too early for Merlin to have gone to Arthur's chambers and Gaius, as far as she knew, didn't have any runs that morning.
Shrugging her shoulders, Cade decided to go ahead and head down to Arthur's chambers. Maybe she could get a head start on the numerous chores Arthur would no doubt give herself and Merlin. She chuckled and after grabbing a little something to eat for breakfast, she left Gaius's chambers.
When she got to Arthur's chambers, she was surprised to see that King Prat wasn't anywhere to be seen, which was odd considering the hour of the day. Normally, the king was fast asleep in his bed, a real challenge for Cade and Merlin to awaken.
Leaving the king's chambers, Cade looked around for someone who might know what was going on, but, like with her brother, uncle and the king, none of Cade's friends were anywhere to be found. Not Gwen. Not any of the knights. Not even Micheal, which was really strange. No matter where she looked, her relatives and friends were no where to be found.
Finally, Cade came to the door leading into the council chambers. She then thought she heard noises coming from the inside and she grabbed the handle to open the door. As she entered, she was startled by a chorus of voices shouting, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" When she recovered from the shock, she then saw that everyone she had been unable to find were there: Merlin (who had that goofy grin on his face that also had a slight smug look in it, Cade thought), Gaius, Arthur, Gwen, Micheal, Astrid, the knights and, to her astonishment, even her mother, Hunith, and her uncle Andret and older cousin Cai were there.
Her mother came up and hugged her tightly. "Happy birthday, my little girl." she said. Cade smiled as she held onto her mother. They spent the rest of the day just celebrating and by the time it was over, everyone was thoroughly drunk and happy. As Merlin and Cade climbed the steps to Gaius's chambers, Cade spoke to Merlin.
"Thanks Merlin." she said. He grinned at her.
"Anytime, little sister." he said.
So in the end, Cade had been right that the day was going to be great. It just ended up being better then she had hoped for.
