Impulse

He's always acted on impulse.

It's what he's known for.

He's brash and foolhardy.

So many times he's been told, "Think before you speak," or, "Think about what you're about to do."

But he doesn't think.

He's really never been one to think.

He's started a lot of fights and made a lot of messes by acting on impulse, he supposes.

He'd hurt a lot of people, physically, and emotionally, with his hands and with his words, and he's really fucked up before. He acknowledges this regularly.

He has regrets.

Regrets from acting on impulse.

He doesn't really think he has many successes from acting on an impulse.

But today he thinks that might change.

Today, as he surges forward and initiates something more with the pale boy beside him, not a single thought about the possible consequences crossing his mind before doing so, he thinks maybe his impulsive behavior may not be so bad.

When his move is accepted and returned, he's definitely glad he's impulsive.

Even when dealing with a boy who thinks about almost everything before acting, he still doesn't think.

He supposes that's part of why the two of them fit together so well.

FIN.
