The Boy Who Died

Prologue

The voice was clear and high and it rang throughout the wizarding world with scary clarity.

"You may know me as The Dark Lord, You-Know-Who, He should not be named, even Voldemort if you are brave. Now, you may call me The Great Minster. Yes, your Minster is dead, but do not mourn. I am more than capable of replacing him. I plan to bring greatness back into the world that you live. Mudblood savages have infiltrated our world and stolen our magic. They will be punished and together as pureblooded wizards we will overcome."

The hand that was currently feeding mashed carrots to a small boy slipped and fell. Lily Potter's eyes widened as her mouth fell open. James Potter had a different reaction, "Shit Lily! First he kills the Longbottom's and their son and now he takes over the ministry! What are we supposed to do?"

After a long pause, Lily spoke.

"I dunno James."

"We'll have to go in hiding then. We can't stay here. Death eaters will be banging down out door a hour from now." said James.

"W-what about work James?" Lily stammered.

"Work!? Lily, they'll kill you!" shouted James.

"But we've figured out a way to destroy him! If I could just go to the office one more time I can bring my work into hiding."

"Lily-" James began.

"No, James. I have to go. I'll apparate directly into the office, pick up what I need, and I'll be right back." she said.

She got up and pushed her chair. She paused and bent low, cradling James' face in her hand.

"Don't worry to much, baby."

She bent in and gave him a soft kiss. She pulled away letting her lips brush against his cheek. She rose her feet and with a loud crack she was gone.

James touched his lips, not knowing that he would never see her or feel those lips again.

A/N: I know it was short, but it's just a prologue.
