It was about two when he walked into her office. She had been sitting there working on her latest techno gadget from PX-3486. He tossed a paper on her desk, and it only took her a second to realize it was a letter of resignation. She opened her mouth to protest, but she was cut off by the look on his face. The pure determination that she knew by heart, the look that he would not be swayed. She had been dreaming about this moment for a long time, but she didn't give in. She stood up, intending to argue him out of it. But he didn't give her a chance. In a blink, he had an arm around her waist and a hand tracing her jaw. It was all she could do to not melt into his arms. The first kiss was soft, short. The second was longer, more passionate. It was about eight when the two of them walked out of the SGC, hand-in-hand. Her for the weekend, him for the last time, but both walked toward a new future, one where they will spend the rest of their lives together.
