LunaC: On with the story!
Kid just stood at the airport, waiting for his flight. He was being sent off to finish important matters that his father hadn't. Kid was the new Lord Death now, but still insisted his friends call him by the name he had for twenty years now.
It felt weird being here without Liz and Patty. The three had always been together when it came to things like this. But they had an excuse for being absent. Liz was getting married in about two months, and Patty was helping with the preparations.
He remembered that day when she first went on a date with Paul. He didn't think much about it. But then there was the next, and then the two being a couple for two years. And then he proposed to her, and she happily accepted.
That's what broke Kid's heart. He wished he had told Liz his feelings before. He tried to think of her as just a good friend, but his love for her got in the way of that. And then he started to feel like it was hard to be around her. He was supposed to hide his feelings. There wasn't any use of her knowing them. Not when she was in love with another man.
But it wasn't until last night when he couldn't keep his feelings to himself anymore. He was outside the manor with the sisters. The three had just said their goodbyes.
"I wish you could be back before for the wedding," Liz said sadly. Unfortunately, Kid wasn't going to be back for almost half a year. He then grabbed her wrist before she left, and his gold eyes met her sapphire blue.
"Just so you know Liz, I've always loved you," he said. "I guess I just didn't realize it until it was too late. I just wanted to let you know that."
With that, he let go of her and got in the limo. It drove off to the airport. But he remembered the look of shock on her face before he left.
"Flight 88 is now boarding," he heard the speaker say. He grabbed his bag and walked towards the gate, until he heard a familiar voice.
"Kid! Wait!" Liz shouted. He turned around to see him running towards him. She finally got to him and gave him a huge hug.
"Liz? What are you doing here?" Kid asked.
"I'm coming with you," she replied.
"But what about your wedding?"
"I called off the engagement."
"Why?"
"Because I realized I love you too Kid. I guess that I just didn't realize it either."
Kid was filled with shock and enjoyment. His arms wrapped around her, and his forehead on her's.
"Flight 88 is about to leave," the voice on the intercom announced.
"We should go get on the plane," Kid said, both of them letting go.
"Why? We could just wait for the next one," Liz replied, upset that the moment had ended.
"Yes, but this flight number is symmetrical!"
Liz just giggled and followed the shinigami onto the plane.
