A Loud House fic about reading! Appalling isn't it? I guess you'll just have to cope. But anyways, Lisa is seven and Lincoln is fourteen, this is about three years into the future.
It was a sunny Thursday in Royal Woods, Michigan and everyone was preparing for the weekend. Most of the Loud siblings were planning for their events later on. Lori was getting ready with her date with Bobby, Luna was getting lots of rest for her band's performance for Rockin, etc. The couch was empty except for two people: Lisa and her one and only big bro, Lincoln.
Lisa was reading War and Peace, being the first to be enveloped in the comfort of the couch. Lincoln arrived at the couch a couple minutes after and turned on the TV.
"Welcome back to another episode of ARGGH!" Hunter Spector's voice blared from the TV.
Lisa promptly gave Lincoln a dirty glare, "Do you MIND?"
Lincoln grinned sheepishly
"Oh," Lincoln apologized, "Sorry, Lis,"
He went upstairs and returned downstairs with an Ace Savvy comic. He undressed and sat on the couch. He saw Lisa, focused on her story and wondered if it was good. He tried to divert his eyes but every page flip of his had the same old plot. He looked over at Lisa's book and got pulled in right away. It was so much more real than his Ace Savvy comics. The hero wasn't gifted with unhuman abilities like Ace, but still caught his attention.
Lisa had seen how indulged Lincoln was in his Ace Savvy books, she wondered if it was as satisfying as Lincoln let on. She began reading and immediately was swept away. The action had given her a feeling she hadn't had in a while: excitement. She could barely keep her mouth closed because it was so interesting. Soon though, the two pages of the books were finished, and both had to return to their own stories.
Lincoln was the first to divert his eyes from the book. He just saw Lisa's eyes on his book for almost a millisecond, but that didn't stop him from having a great idea. He smiled proudly for thinking of it.
"Hey Lisa, how about if we trade our books, I can read your War in Peace-"
"-And I can read your Ace Savvy comic," Lisa finished.
"Deal," They said in unison. They then traded their books, and happily dove in. Lincoln had one more thing to say though.
"Let's make this our little secret," Lincoln said.
"Affirmative," Lisa agreed.
