Gaara was laying on top of Hinata in between her split legs. He was damn tired and she was playing with his hair, it calms him he told her once. It has been two years since they've been married, two years since they where bind by a contract which forced them into a life they hadint expected. They've grown on each other, even though it was arranged they learned to genuinely love each other despite the circumstances of their love.
It had been a difficult two years. They both had to admit their marriage wasn't a piece of cake, the Suna elders where constantly breathing down their neck and the fact that no hier was yet produced ticked them off.
Gaara flipped out at a meeting and told them it was their marriage and they would do things at their own pace, at least they had grown on each other and evidently loved each other which made the council back off a bit, they where still young and had to achieve their dreams before having children.
Gaara and Hinata where sold off by their clans. Yashamaru didn't want Gaara to grow up lonely and discarded so he proposed it to the council and they agreed. Hiashi didn't see that Hinata would be a fit leader of the clan so he sold her away. This pissed Lady tsunade off, she didn't even sign that shitty treaty and hated giving Hinata away like that.
Apparently it had all began when the 3rd hokage and 4th kazekage decided that strengthening ties with their villages would make both Lands invincible since Suna was close to Konohas boarder. By doing so all the clans in Konoha had to suggest a kunoichi from their clan and the 4th kazekage had to choose who would befit a kages wife. So he choose the strongest clan suggestion Hinata Hyuga.
Lady Tsunade hated how devious the past leaders where, but she couldn't break the treaty no matter how hard she tried to compose herself. When that stupid Suna rep came to "claim their bride" she tried hard not to wring his neck, it was a situation that was going to cause havoc between her ninja and she hated it.
When Hinata was summoned along with Hiashi she couldn't believe what she was being told did her father really dislike her to the point where he singed her over to another village and he knew all this time but never told her of the fate she was destined to. But she had to accept, the fate of her village was in her hands and she loved konoha badly, she served it with all her heart, that's why she accepted cause she loved and when she loves she loves hard.
The consequences of cause had Hinata turned down "Immediate war" was what the rep told Lady Tsunade. That would mean other villages would be aware Konoha is currently venerable and would attack as well. "Hinata, not to scare you or anything but am counting on you to make this work" she said to her her tone bold and hard making the young Hyuga kunoichi tremble "so much weight on her shoulders" she thought.
When the word of her arranged marriage got out, Hinatas colleagues kept barging into Lady Tsunades office like they had mad cow disease. She calmly tried to explain but they kept shooting painful words at her which made her loose her temper and kick them out of her office. Neji and Naruto said the worst, their words made her cringe. None the less she had to do what was best for the village no matter how hard they protested she was the Hokage by default of cause but still she had more than one life on her shoulders.
Her wedding day felt dry and stale. Like a puppet master was pulling strings and they danced. She felt so mechanic so operated, she couldn't even plan her wedding day although whoever arranged everything had taste.
Kurenai was there, she begged Lady Tsunade to be by Hinatas side on her wedding day even though she was heavily pregnant to travel for three days. Shikamaru was there, Kiba and shino were there although Shino had to constantly calm Kiba down. Neji was declined from going when he made a scene at the Hyuga compound and Hiashi made his curse mark burn. Hoheto was there on behalf of the Hyuga and to make sure Hinata settled in.
And Hinata honestly she was devastated, she had to leave her beloved village, her Naruto_kun and her clan for this sham of a marriage. She felt betrayed, she felt thrown into fire. It burned even though she never showed it, it burned.
Eventually Suna grew on her, even though Gaara never send her on missions because there where people constantly plotting to bring him down "that's suna for you" he told her when she was shedding tears after being attacked. She kept herself busy by doing things around the village and she planned the dessert festival.
She was a capable wife, she told the helpers it was her job to Cook clean and take care of him so they shouldn't, which they understood. Temari and Kankuro where good to her, when Temari stayed in Konoha when Gaara had to attend The Kage summit which he asked her to accompany him because she was home sick, she was happy to see Shikamaru and Temari liked each other. Nara men where cursed with strong bold and controlling woman she thought when only Gaara and herself left Konoha for their village.
Sabaku Hinata is the Kazekages wife...
