a/n: all lowercase. understated, quiet. a brief study into the universe without stars.
disclaimer: i do not own this universe
amelia pond sees the stars move in impossible constellations.
impossible in two factors: one, they are not average constellations like leo or canis majoris or ursa minor or orion or whatever. they're more like weird names: kasterbourous and pandorica and all the like. and two, stars do not exist.
now, amelia pond is also slightly impossible. for one, she has had three lives.
one: mad amy pond with her aunt sharon and only one real friend, dreaming of her magic doctor.
two: mad amelia pond with her aunt sharon in a raggedy old house and amelia's never going to be complete or happy and she sees the stars somehow. (this is the only one she currently remembers.)
three: happy amelia pond with her two best friends and lovely old parents in a full, lively house and everything's okay.
she's not okay, little amelia pond, she's bored and no one in stupid leadworth will talk to a freak like her. she has one friend, but he's a grown-up, and she can't really play football with a grown-up in free time at school.
oh well, at least brian still slips her little sweets when she looks sad and is nice to her. that's worth something.
so she makes drawings and everyone calls her mad and oh look, mrs. angelo was here yesterday and now no one can remember her except amelia.
a little boy smiles at her during maths and he disappears a moment later. he has long hair and a big nose and he seems very very familiar. why is that?
amelia counts her birthday candles, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and it will be easter in two and a half weeks, this is her favorite time of year.
amelia tells brian about the boy in maths and realizes that brian has the same nose.
brian tells amelia that he and lucy (his ex-wife who lives in london) once tried to have a child and maybe amelia saw a ghost of him.
brian sounds like he's joking. amelia is not joking when she believes the statement.
she retraces the letters on the note that tells her to go to the museum to see the box.
amelia counts the hours until the museum closes. seven hours, she waits.
she has a feeling that otherwise, she'd be waiting a whole lot longer, so it doesn't really bother her.
the lady that steps out of the box is weird. and nice. and probably dangerous.
amelia likes her.
and then the video about the roman makes the lady cry and amelia doesn't understand but she thinks that this feeling that the lady is feeling is called love.
then the monster, with the plunger, starts attacking and everything that's going on makes amelia's head hurt. kissing and brooms and stupid hats.
amelia pond is not a real person. there's a light, and one, two, three, four, five, she's gone, before people can do anything.
three, two, one, amelia pond is gone.
an- i hope you like this. i wrote this a while back, and never really put much thought into it. (and yes, i did have to put little rory in there. sorry.)
