The words echoed through Brittany's head like a bad record. The same sentence that had been playing through her head for the past two weeks, ever since Santana had walked out of her life.
I guess part of an unofficial break-up is giving the other person space.
A lot of space. Brittany hadn't talked to Santana since the breakup, and she hadn't even known that she was coming down to help out with the musical until the brunette was standing in the auditorium smiling at her and looking as beautiful as ever.
It wasn't that the pain had gone away, but Santana being right there, close enough to touch, real, had brought all of Brittany's feelings rushing back. She'd grown accustomed to the empty feeling that had fallen over her since, she didn't like it, but she was used to it, and it was better than that gut wrenching soul crushing pain she felt after seeing Santana at Mckinley.
Brittany gazed at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, "What am I going to do Tubbs?" The blonde's cat sat on the toilet seat behind her, "I can't quit the musical... I love the role I got, but I don't know if I can stand seeing her everyday."
She began to take down her hair from the ridiculous up-do it was in. Usually getting to dress up and act like she was from the 1950's would've made
Brittany happy, but really there was only one thing that made her feel that way, and she didn't have it anymore.
She had just begun to strip down for a shower when her phone went off, it was a text message. The blonde picked it up but hesitated when she saw the name on the screen. Santana.
"you looked great it your costume today! I always forget how pretty you look, even in crazy costumes :p I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"
Brittany put down her phone. She looked at herself in the mirror again then opened the medicine cabinet behind it. The blonde's fingers danced along pill bottles.
She didn't feel pretty. She just felt used.
