A/N: I got this idea writing a letter to a friend. I just had to write it. Hopefully I'll have another chapter of "Renewals and Restoration" out soon. I keep writing later chapters. Chapter 6, 7, and 8 are already done lol. If anyone wants to read any more stories like this, please let me know because I can definitely get them done much quicker than a regular fic.

Hey Will,

It's been a while since we last spoke or wrote. I just thought I would write to you and let you know what's been going on in my life. I decided to break it off with the Immortal. It wasn't working out and honestly? I wasn't really happy with him like I thought I was. Sound familiar?

I heard about what happened to Kennedy. I'm sorry. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better, but I can't. I know that. How was the funeral? Probably not that comforting, but I guess you can't be comfortable about that.

Did you hear about Angel's friend Fred? I didn't find out until recently. I heard from someone that Giles got a call from Angel for help and nobody helped him. Did you know? I spoke to Giles a few weeks ago and he deliberately kept it from me as well as other calls. You'd think he'd get over the fact that Angel owns Wolfram and Hart. Or owned anyway.

Did you hear about it? It was on the news even over here. Hell broke loose in LA and there was one hell of a battle. Of course it wasn't reported that way. I didn't hear the official story, but Dawn told me they said it was a gang war. It seems that every time something happens they blame it on gangs.

You're probably wondering how I know so much about it. Well I suppose I should start from the beginning. Angel decided he didn't like how the senior partners (the guys in charge of Wolfram and Hart) wanted things, so he and his friends fought against them and the circle of the black thorn (this weird group who liked the old Wolfram and Hart). Some of them died. I think you met them. Gunn, Connor, and Wesley too. I heard Cordelia died earlier this year. At the end of the battle, LA was practically in ruins. It was hell on earth.

But Angel survived. He crawled out from underneath the corpses of the demon army and something happened. The sun rose and nothing happened to him, he didn't die. He didn't burst into flame. Will, he was alive. Really alive for the first time in centuries. He's human. He went to the Oracles to find out what happened. There was this prophecy called "Shanshu" and it said one day he would become human. It's happened. He finally earned his redemption, and he's alive. LA held nothing for him anymore. All of his friends were dead and his offices destroyed. So…he left.

One day I heard a knock on my door. I answered it and…there he was, human. He was human and he came to me. He said he didn't care if I was cookies or not (I told you about that, right?), and he wanted me back. That was a couple of weeks ago. Angel lives with me in Rome, and we're back together. This time we're going to make it work. We're getting married next month, and I want you to be there, Will. Just like you were always there for me before. I guess that's all I have to say for now. You'll be hearing from me soon. Ciao!
