Snow
"And.. that's the last of them." Wonder Woman said as she finished restraining the last few villains she and Batman had overpowered on a League mission together. Walking past her, Batman replied, "Let's get back to the Javelin then." in his usual stoic manner.
Diana turned quickly and followed, determined not to be left behind by the caped crusader.
"In a hurry to be somewhere?" She teased as she fell into step beside him.
"Yes. Somewhere warm."
Diana turned, somewhat surprised to see the playful smirk on Bruce's lips. Ignoring her surprise, the Dark Knight continued. "How are you not cold, Princess?"
Diana shrugged. "Amazon physiology, I guess."
Bruce said something else, but Diana had stopped listening, and was instead reaching out to try and catch the white flakes that were now falling from the sky. Bruce stopped and turned around to watch the princess of the amazons trying to catch snow in her hands. He watched, somewhat mesmerized, as she drifted about after the snowflakes.
Bruce waited until the ground was covered in a layer of white, then gathered some snow into his gauntleted hands, forming a ball.
"Hey!" Diana cried when she was suddenly hit in the back with something cold and wet. She turned quickly to find Bruce standing with another snowball in his hand. She squealed, throwing up her arms to block the sudden onslaught of snow. Laughing, she leapt to the side, picking up a snowball of her own and hurling it at Bruce.
They continued like that for a while, an intricate dance of throwing and dodging flying snow. That stopped when Bruce suddenly found himself pinned to the ground by a flushed amazon. He stared up at her, noticing how the snow caught in Diana's hair only made her that much more beautiful.
Bruce was brought out of his thoughts as he noticed that Diana was now shivering.
"Cold, Princess?"
"N-no." She replied, climbing off him and getting to her feet. Bruce stood too, and in one fluid motion, draped his cape over her shoulders.
She silently leaned into him, appreciative of his gesture. Bruce smiled to himself as she settled against him, happy to be able to do something for his Princess.
"Thank you." Diana said quietly as she and Bruce started walking to the waiting Javelin.
"Anytime, Princess. Anytime."
