"Hiei!" Kurama screamed as he watched his lover being pierced through the chest. They didn't expect this to happen. They didn't know today was the last time they would see their friends. Kurama wanted to go back to the time before this mess. When Hiei and himself would spar in the forest, lay in bed, or just relax in their bath tub. Yet, here they were once again fighting for their lives.
You never really know how long you have in this world, whether it be demon or human. Tears began to run down Kurama's cheeks as he saw Hiei's bloody body. "Please Hiei! You must get up! You have to get up! Don't leave me!" Kurama began to feel a sharp pain in his lower abdomen. He had to get to Hiei he had to reach him no matter what. Kurama was in no better shape than Hiei himself. He could not feel his legs and he had a large gash on his right hip.
Hiei lay motionless in front of Kurama. Just that morning Hiei and Kurama had been sitting around the kitchen table enjoying a light breakfast. "So what was it, that made me the luckiest guy in all three realms, to land a gem like you?" Hiei smirked as Kurama blushed from the compliment from his long time husband. Hiei knew the reason but he always loved it when Kurama told him. "Well, when I was in that bar I remember seeing you…I thought to myself if this demon would just walk by me…"
Hiei tried to hide his amusement as Kurama began to drift off into his own little world. "You were wearing that leather vest with those dark jeans…you looked over at me while you were with some friends and just walked up." Kurama began to chuckle a little bit. "I wondered if you were mated yet because there was no way a fine piece of candy like you was single." Hiei smacked Kurama lightly as the words escaped Kurama's mouth. "Hn…once I saw you I knew it was game over. I could just feel like there was something different about you." Kurama looked up at Hiei with his emerald eyes as Hiei ran his hands through the scarlet hair. "I knew that you would change me...and you did." Kurama placed a tiny kiss on his husband's forehead.
"Yes and who could ever forget our first night together? I had been with many people but not many people have made me scream like that!" Kurama blushed. "Oh yeah that's right…you screamed so hard you lost your voice the next day!" Hiei began to laugh as his husband punched him jokingly in the arm, laughing alongside him. "I guess someone is going to be lonely tonight.." Kurama giggled. "You wouldn't…" said Hiei. "Oh but I would and I will!"
Kurama could barely open up his eyes now. Why had this happened? Why had they had to speak to…why did they help? If they would have just gone back they would be happy. They would be cuddling up right now…Yet here they are. With one final glance Kurama looked to Hiei and reached for him, but he was too far and too weak. "I'm so sorry Hiei…" and with that Kurama closed his eyes and was gone.
