"Edward!" Winry's grip on his arm was shaken off, and he continued toward the door, suitcase in hand. "Ed, please!"
"I'm sorry Winry." he opened the door, and, with a second of hesitation, closed it again, turning back to Winry after setting the suitcase on the floor. He hugged her, letting her cry into his jacket. "I've put so much effort into keeping this going. But I'm sorry Winry." he released her, looking into her eyes. "It's not going to work out for us."
"But... But I love you Ed... You can't leave me..." A wrench collided with the side of his head. "You said... You said you loved me!" the wrench swung toward his head again, but this time was stopped by a hand catching it.
"Winry..." He took the wrench from her hand, throwing it across the room and onto the floor. "I'm sorry. But, I can't stomach all the crap I get from you. You think I want to get my head bashed in everyday?!" His hand was still grasping her wrist, as he pulled her into a kiss. "I still love you Winry. It's just not going to work."
And, with one last kiss, he picked up his suitcase, and walked out the door.
