Chapter Sixteen The Horse and His Boy
"And I, Prince Cor announce the engagement of Aravis and I," shouted Cor cheerfully as the banquet carried on. Cheerful was this feast for Cor and Aravis, and almost everyone they knew were there. Bree, Hwin, Corin, Lasaraleen, you name it. Everyone was there but Rabadash the mule of course.
"Oh, I say!" Exclaimed Lasaraleen, "I wonder who would've replaced Aravis if she were to marry Ashosta?" It was a fair query as Lasaraleen almost put Aravis into his hands yet again. And if you have been educated properly enough you would know how important it is not to fall into the wrong hands.
Unexpectedly an archer came in with a bang. Everyone in the room turned to see the fuss.
"Brinny-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah," Bree neighed. Cor nudged him with his foot.
"Dreadfully sorry to interrupt this occasion," said the archer, "but King Lune has been shot with an arrow."
"Send out regards to the land," said Cor, upset that his day had been almost half ruined. "Shall we have a moment o' silence?" and as the whole room sat with their heads bowing down Aravis began to think.
"King Lune cannot be dead," thought Aravis, "and if he is, I think I may know how to save him." It was true. Aravis did know how to save King Lune. If you have read a book called "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", you may remember Lucy Pevensie received a bottle of healing potion. Aravis knew of this potion. Where to find it, she did not.
After the moments silence, the people and animals mournfully made their way back into their seats and ate a little more.
"Cor," said Aravis, tapping Cor on the shoulder, "I think I know how to save King Lune."
"But Aravis, King Lune is dead," added Cor.
Hwin happened to overhear this particular conversation over the rest. "Cor, Aravis. This land is a magical place. King Lune may be revived with the right potions or medication."
"So you will help me?" asked Aravis.
"Most definitely so," replied Hwin, "but will Prince Cor join us? Bree could come as well."
"I shall see. If I'm not too busy with my brother Corin, I am delighted to join you on your quest," said Cor. However, even though Cor was fond of King Lune, and liked him a lot, something wanted King Lune to stay this way. It may have been the fact that now Prince Cor, would now be king.
So Hwin and Aravis set of on their journey to save King Lune.
