At some point during the war, Sirius and Remus began to distrust each other. This is how it happened. It starts in the Spring of 1980 and ends with the "death" of Peter and arrest of Sirius.

Prologue

Looking back on it now, it seems impossible that I didn't realize something was off. That I didn't notice how he couldn't look us in the eyes for days. That I didn't remember how his arm burned when I touched it. And now, it's too late. If only he would have told us about it, we might have been able to help. But he made his choice. He chose to betray his best friend to his worst enemy. And for that, I can never forgive him. For that, I hope to see the look on his face when he dies, lost and alone. Because while we would have stayed with him until the end, he chose the Road to Darkness.
