This is just a short story I came up with when it was snowing yesterday.
Snowy confessions
-------------------
Blair walked out in the snow which stuck to his boots. His hands were stuffed deep in his pockets, his coat was pulled tight around him and his hat was pulled over his ears. It was cold outside but he didn't mind. He liked walking in the snow. It was peaceful. He paused at the park and sat down on a bench to look up at the quickly falling snow. He caught a snowflake on his glove and studied it. It was like a little star. It melted away after a couple of seconds. He loved snow. He didn't know why but it fascinated him in some way.
Jim was back in the warm loft. This kind of weather was nothing for the sentinel. It made Jim kind of grumpy while it made him happy.
" Hey." He heard a familiar voice. When he looked up, he noticed it was the object of his latest thoughts.
" Hey, what are you doing here?" Blair asked as Jim sat down next to him.
" Spend some time with you."
" You hate snow."
" So? I'm trying to understand why you like it so much."
Blair grinned. " Come on, man. It's romantic! It's just nice. Just look at those shapes and how it falls. It's just beautiful. I can stare up at the sky for hours just to watch it fall." He answered excited.
Jim looked up and let the snow fall on his face. It felt like a gentle caress against his skin it was cold yet pleasant. He'd never actually taken the time to sit out in the snow like now. He'd just assumed he hated it. Blair could make him like everything he hated.
" I told you it was fun!" Blair exclaimed as he watched the expression on Jim's face change to one of happiness.
Jim nodded and looked at Blair. " It's nice. You know, I've never actually taken the time to enjoy it. Just like this, you made so many good changes in my life. Since I met you, I've learned to enjoy life. There's more to life then work, you made me see that. I am thankful for that and I know I can never repay you. You're the best fried I could've wished for." He said as he put a friendly arm around Blair's shoulder and watched the emotions play in those expressive blue eyes.
No one had ever said anything like this to him before and it made Blair feel warm inside. It made him feel appreciated which was a feeling he hadn't experienced that much before.
" Thanks Jim. You saying that really means a lot to me. You're my best friend too."
A good friendship was the greatest gift a person could get. A good friend was worth a lot because it meant you had someone who cared and listened to you, who tried to help you when some things just went bad. It also meant returning that favor when the other felt bad. Good friends knew when something was wrong with the other, they felt it. Jim and Blair had found all that in each other and not just that, they'd found their soul mate, the person they could share everything with and the person wouldn't judge them.
Jim and Blair, Sentinel and Guide, Friends for life.
This will be posted on my site when I can Login again. I've got a site for my fanfiction: and Yes, I do have a werid fascination with snow. I love watching it fall :-)
