Disclaimer: I do not own Slayers or situations from Indiana Jones.
Author's Note: This is a Slayers parody of a certain scene from Indiana Jones, and not a crossover. Also, I apologize if I get anything wrong from the scene concerning Indiana Jones; I was never a fan of those movies and have not watched them in years.
They had reached it, the inner sanctum of the temple. The redhead sorceress reached towards the golden idol set upon the pedestal, a single beam of sunlight descending through a hole in the crumbling ancient ceiling illuminating it. Greed was clear in the wide, shining eyes of Lina and her fingers, which twitched curled in claws as if to snatch her prize up.
Behind her trailed Gourry, looking bored as he looked around at the temple.
Just when she was about to take hold of the idol, Lina stopped. She had dealt with numerous traps in her career of pilfering ruins, and doubted this was any different. Scrutinizing the idol, she walked around Gourry and punted him from behind.
"Ow, what was that for?" Gourry exclaimed indignantly as he stumbled forward, just barely saving himself from a face plant. Lina jabbed a finger towards the artifact.
"You're my bodyguard, so it's your duty to retrieve it for me." Lina informed him.
Rolling his eyes and not seeing what the deal was, Gourry strode over to the pedestal and picked the hunk of gold up, tossing it over to Lina. The Dragon Spooker shot Gourry a glare at how he treated such a valuable and was about to berate him for it when a low rumbling that was quickly becoming louder started.
Red met blue as the two raiders (or more like, raider and lackey) exchanged glances, and they started bolting, dodging various traps that sprung at them in the process. Looking over her shoulder, Lina let out a startled cry as she saw what was pursuing them. No, it was not a boulder . . . it was a fat Zelgadis that appeared to have lost control and was now rolling not of his own will.
"I am not amused." Zelgadis stated as he rolled. However, Lina sure was; the petite sorceress had forgotten all about the danger and had fallen to the ground, convulsing in a fit of laughter. That soon stopped however as Zelgadis bowled over her, the momentum finally breaking as he was sent sprawling through the air and knocked down Gourry in the process.
Needless to say, no one was happy that day. Especially Amelia, who not only had to heave a chimera weighing thousands of pounds off of her other friends, but also pry said friends off of the ground with a spatula, and then reprimand the aforementioned chimera about drowning his sorrows in junk food.
