Hundreds of years ago, a artist was hard at work. He was brilliant and full of talent but alas, it was never enough to really provide for himself and his two children. The Towns folk never payed his work much mind cause he was a mere peasant and shouldn't be wasting his time with his passion. He should be in his proper place in the fields. Instead his two children worked the fields to make ends meet. The three of them had always been alone as the Mother had passed away sometime before bringing their youngest child into the world. So Amaya, the first born took the responsibilities of the lady of the house very young. Their fathers work was his escape from missing his bride but he wished it could also be a escape from poverty for his children.
One day, he forgot everything but bettering his work, even taking care of his children. to the point his own soul was lost to his madness. But it seemed this madness is what the world wanted from them as it finally led to a higher standing and being able to move away from the rural lands to the main town. However, threw giving up his mind and soul he had grown very cold toward his children. The two of them planed to run away together. They couldn't live with their father much longer, but they wouldn't abandon each other. As they were making their plans, the father realized for the status to last, the trade had to continue in the family. So he started dragging his hesitant son, Kazuki into the craft including use of black magic to enable the creations to have actual life. Soon Kazuki was lost to the madness as well. Amaya tried to drag her brother away to no avail. Her father ordered one of the creations to attack her, resulting in a horrible cut around her arm. She took off and found refuge with a mage a couple towns away. Here she swore she would defend the innocent masses from her father and hoped to save her brother one day.
