Disclaimer: I do not own Metal Gear. 

Authors note: This was a writing excercise I did, writing a story in 15 minutes. So it might not be any good, but whatevs. The idea stemmed from my wierd habit of calling her obsessively in the beginning, but then switching to calling EVA and Sigint, because she was only saying the same things over and over. Oh well.

Game: Metal Gear Solid 3 (duh.)

Pairing: One-sided Para-Medic - Naked Snake. Could be Para-Medic x Naked Snake if you squint.

Word Count: 556

He hadn't called her in a while now. He was alive, because Major Zero had been speaking to him a few minutes ago. Maybe he thought there was nothing left to learn from her? But last time they spoke he had a nasty burn, and Para-Medic was positive he wouldn't know how to heal it unless she told him again, since he never listens when she talks. Perhaps he was just busy. Fighting a Cobra or something. The Fury was the last, though, unless there was a secret member. Or the Sorrow never died. It couldn't be time to take out The Boss already? No... He needed Sokolov first. So he couldn't be fighting someone very tough. Maybe some guards were in the way... that must be it.

"Major, what's happening with Snake? I haven't heard from him in a while."

"He just radioed in. He's trying to find out the code to a door. Other than that he's okay, so there's no need for you to keep biting your nails off." the Major smiled slightly at her, trying to keep her spirits up.

But Para-Medic's couldn't stop worrying.

Maybe he's calling that girl EVA instead. She's much more helpful, and she has those big fake boobs. Why would anyone want Para-Medics help over hers? All Para-Medic could do was tell him what a frog tastes like. He could find that out without her. He could just call EVA. In fact, that's probably what he was doing right then.

"Dirty slut," She whispered, a little louder than she initially intended.

"Pardon? I can do whatever, and whoever, I want, without being judged by you. Not my fault you haven't gotten any in years," said the Major huffily.

"I... Uh... wasn't talking about you, sir..." Para-Medic quickly replied.

"Oh! Forget I said anything, then. Back to work!" the Major hurriedly exclaimed.

If this was a movie he would call her all the time. And then they'd kill all the baddies, and then have a party. With cake. And games. And no EVA.

She had never felt this way before. Usually, she was fine waiting. But he made her feel... weird. Like... she knew him so well, but she knew nothing about him. He was so familiar and so mysterious. And maybe... she was a little jealous of EVA. Getting to meet him in person. Knowing what he looks like, beyond having a blurry picture that was taken years ago. Para-medic sighed, and resigned to reading her book.

[CALL]

"Huh?" she couldn't believe what was happening.

[CALL]

[CALL]

"Oh!" Para-Medic quickly came to her senses and pressed the ANSWER button. Finally, he wanted to speak to her.

"........................."

"Uh... Para-Medic? You there?"

"Oh! It is you! I missed you!" Para-Medic could barely contain her excitement.

"Ok... I missed you too?" Naked Snake replied, confused.

"Really? You missed me?"

"Uh, yeah?"

"Cool.... I mean... Snake, you've got a bad burn," she realised he was probably calling her about that. "Burns happen when you're engulf-"

"I know," he cut her off; "I just wanted to say hi."

"Oh. Hi," she said sheepishly.

"Can I eat bats?"

"I guess?"

"Thanks. Talk to you later," Snakes deep voice growled down her earpiece.

The transmitter clicked off, and Para-Medic leaned back into her chair. He would talk to her later. She couldn't wait.
