I got the idea to write this from the Synchronicity webnovel/blog. This is just a test chapter, if you like it pls drop it a alert, fave or (if you have the time) a review:)
blackwhitegreyblackwhitegrey blackwhitegrey everything was spinning, twisting, upside down, where am I how did I get here what do I do…
Finally, everything stops spinning. I stumble and sway on the spot slightly. Something is clutched in my hand. With shaking hands I raise it to eye level. It is a letter, crumpled and faded with time. I rack my brains for any memory of how I got here or what I was meant to do.
Empty. Blank. Nothing.
I look at the letter again. Familiar… so familiar. A voice whispers in my head…
Once again the play begins
Go in search of the house of which the mystery lies within
There be guided by the dolls of twin
Be fooled not by the mistakes of the past which lies therein
And search for the final True Happy End
The voice whispers the same verse continuously and insistently getting stronger and stronger. Listening intently, I finally decipher the message, or at least some of it. I had to find a house somewhere in this forest and find a… Happy End? I don't understand all the other lines about dolls and plays. Hopefully I would find out soon.
As I walk through the forest, mist begins to cover the area, growing thicker in an unnoticeable way, giving it a fairytale and dreamlike state. I study the letter as I walk. Its creases and faded paper stirs a faint memory in the back of my mind that is quickly suppressed by the whispering voice in my head, but not so quickly that I could not catch a glimpse of it…
A faint glimpse of the terrified face of a young woman too blurry to be recognizable before being twisted away to show bloodstained walls that were once ornate and beautiful. The distant scream too soft to be heard and the glint off the metal of a weapon dripping in blood…
It scared me, and I allowed the memory to be buried by the whisperings of the unknown voice. Almost magically, a mansion appears through the mist, soundlessly and creepily. Was this the place that I was meant to seek? The whispering voice confirmed the thought. But as I neared the mansion, the voice faded to nothingness.
I stared at the what must have once been a grand door. It was now only a shadow of its former glory, the paint was mostly gone, and there were several cracks large and small running through it. Was this truly the place that I was meant to go to? It must have been. I raised my hand and knocked gently. I was afraid. Very afraid.
So? What do you think of it? I really tried my best on this one!
