Summery: The night after 'No Man Left Behind'. Jesse has some nightmares. Emma's unable to sleep and Adam thinks he know what's going on.
An Unfinished day
Part One
Sanctuary was getting ready for bed, the halls and most of the rooms were silent and empty. Most of Mutant X was already to drop off in to a deep slumber, it had been an exhausting day, being trapped in a war zone will do that to you. Some people like Emma would not be sleeping, the memory of complete darkness and Jesse's face was weighing too heavy on her mind for even the thought of sleep to enter her head.
Adam was also unprepared for sleep. Sitting quietly in his labs his mind was going over the reports from his team. There was a blank spot in one place and the cause could only be one thing. In her room Emma was getting sick of the same four walls and the images in her mind. It had been more then a year since she had last opened her mind completely and she still didn't like the effects. The world had been a brutal place for a beautiful young woman who could feel all the thoughts any man had about her. She often felt like checking her self into a mental hospital. Giving up on her room Emma headed towards the Dojo passing Jesse room she heard his cries. Emma could stop him from consciously remembering, but that didn't mean his sub-conscious mind didn't remember.
"How long have you been able to erases thoughts from peoples mind's". Emma jumped as Adams voice came from behind her.
"Since the growth spurt" She said, not looking behind her, at him.
Adam walked towards her and opened Jesse's room. He was moving turning trying to get away from the invisible force that was out to get to him.
"You know he isn't going to get a rest full night until he deals with what ever happened between you and him". Said Adam.
"I know" she answered still not looking at him. Her mind cried out to stop her friends suffering, her heart begged her to, and she felt the tears began to swell in her eye's. 'how could I do this to him, how could I hurt my friend so much' Emma thought as the tears began to fall down her face.
"And I don't think your going to be able to sleep until you two talk". Adam continued "Why don't you do that now". Emma just nodded her head, not moving away, or towards Jesse, she just stood there till Adam gave her a little push, and closed the door behind her.
