I arrived at Cross Academy just before dusk. I wasn't expecting any welcoming party or anything like that but as soon as the car turned into the drive, there was a huge crowd of girls, just outside the dorm, as if waiting for my arrival.

As soon as I got out, all eyes were on me. I tried to avoid their inquisitive stares and make my way to the gates as fast as I could. The noise got even louder when the gates creaked open.

Squeals, screams, excited faces… In the mists of crazed fans of who knows what, I couldn't see who came out- blame it on my shortness!

" Rima!" A guy with bright blonde hair popped out. The girls gasped at once. Looking at this… guy, his skip/run and excited expression; made me think of a rabbit going gaga over a bunch of carrots.

" Lessons are starting soon," he panted.

" Need to show you to your room." The "fans" started whispering and pointing- mostly at me. I caught conversations like: A new night class girl? Why wasn't I put into night class? She's soooo pretty!

The awkward situation finally ended only when the gates were shut behind us: Whew!

He led me to a deserted corridor and pointed to a door at the very end, " That's your room. Shiki will pick you up in awhile."

Mew! I turned and saw a pair of silver eyes staring back at me. A cat.

Are we allowed to keep pets? If not, then someone's breaking the rules. I followed it, until it slipped into a room with the door ajar. My hand reached for the doorknob…

Am I being rude? Better not make any enemies now. I head back to my room to change.

I was tying my hair when someone knocked on my door.

" Come in." I said nonchalantly.

The door opened, someone came in and leant on the wall by my dresser; arms crossed.

I looked up to see a guy, probably the same age as me. His auburn hair unkempt- though it suits his sharp features.
His skin as pale as mine, lips as red a blood and eyes… Silver eyes… They blinked. I looked away as I felt my blood rushing to my cheeks. Fumbling with my textbooks, I avoided his gaze and reached for the door.

Shiki
" Come in" A mellifluous voice called out as I knocked on the door. I went in. A girl with a rather small stature sat at the dresser.

Her straight, blonde hair was tied up in two black ribbons. The white uniform accentuated her slim body. Then, she looked up at me with curious eyes.

Her eyes were beautiful.

She caught herself staring as a delicious crimson colour suffused her cheeks. I dropped my gaze and turned my head to hide my smile. I never thought that a fellow vampire would stare at me the way a human would.
