James carried his oldest child upstairs, and tucked her in next to her four siblings. Harry had scrambled out from under the covers again, and Lily was trying to get him to sleep. He chuckled and went downstairs where Sirius was rocking his daughter Chrystal to sleep. His wife hadn't come with them, and for some reason Peter hadn't either. Remus was lying on the couch, looking pale due to his transformation the night before. And Alina, Peter's wife was stroking her daughter's head as she slept. Just then the scream of Airinia (Lily's younger sister) pierced the air as they heard a chilling curse, Avada Kedavra.
James rushed into the hallway just in time to see a face that he never wanted to see, followed by a green light. Voldemort went up the stairs, ignoring those hidden by the door held closed by James' limp body. The others fled out the back door, hoping that Lily would get out safely. Their hopes were shattered when a green light pulsed in the nursery, followed by a second, that ripped a hole in the house. Sirius handed Remus his child and raced inside screaming the names of the children, which could be heard screaming.
Out of the quinx, only little Harry, the second smallest, had been hit by the curse. The others had been woken by the blast, terrified and crying for their mother. Sirius took all five of them with him to his home, where he stayed until the Ministry came for him.
The series of trials were brutal, but eventually Sirius won with the help of Alina, Remus and Ray (Airinia's husband), sending little Peter Pettigrew to Azkaban. Sirius was given custody of three (Lillian, Harrison, and James Jr.). When his wife Renee found out, she threatened to divorice him if he kept them. Within two months, Renee was gone with his daughter to her native country, Mexico.
As young Chrystal grows up, she is told one thing about her father:
If you get magic, you are your father's child. I will have nothing to do with a witch.
