Spring

A/N: Just another little thing that might seem a bit strange if you haven't read my work before.
This was shaping up to be the worst first day of spring ever for Lily White. The fairy was used to being greeted with equal cheer when she happily went around announcing the arrival of spring, but this year, she was being told that she was wrong; told to go away, and to shut up…one reptilian youkai actually went as far as to attack her.
"Hey! Don't you pick on my girlfriend!"
The reptilian youkai did as he was told…because his rage was turned towards Cirno instead. "You! You're the one to blame for this!" He wasn't very strong, though, even if he'd been at full power, so Cirno quickly defeated him.
"The nerve of some youkai!"
"He…may have had a point. A lot of the youkai that rely on me to wake them up from their winter hibernation aren't very good with cold at all. Bringing you with me on my rounds this year might have been a bad idea."
"Well that's stupid. They should just learn to deal with it, like you did."
"It's…it's not that easy. It wasn't easy for me—still isn't, at times. I manage to deal with it, because I love you, but I still do need to spend some time away from you to warm up."
"…Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll start heading home; I need to move my stuff back to my house anyway now that winter's over."
"…Do you have to?"
"…"
"I…kind of liked having you around all winter. I'd like that to be the case all the time. If that's okay…"
"Of course it's okay! If you're okay with it, I'd be happy to stay!"
