The Masochism Tango

They call it the masochism tango.

It is a strange dance of passion, one characterized by showing your affection via torture. It generally takes a certain type of twisted person to enjoy this.

In this case, the immortality probably helped.

For while Kaguya Houraisan was initially annoyed at the repeated attempts on her life by Fujiwara no Mokou, she eventually came to be amused with them, and eventually, started to enjoy them. Eventually, after many years, Kaguya asked Mokou why she continued this farcical battle when she knew that nothing would ever be accomplished.

Much as Kaguya expected, Mokou had long since forgotten her original goal, and was fighting merely because it had become her life's purpose, the only real thing that had any meaning anymore. And Kaguya asked her if she enjoyed it, and this required some thought on Mokou's part.

Naturally, this left Kaguya an opening to kill Mokou yet again. Twice, actually. And that was when Mokou realized that she did enjoy their little "game", killing each other and never really staying dead for very long. Which was exactly what Kaguya wanted to hear, and she allowed Mokou a killing shot, just to see the girl smile.

And so it continues on into eternity, this dance of death, this masochism tango.

CCX: Finally broke out of the Marisa/Alice rut I'd been stuck in! I also have noticed that I have a nasty tendency to put a lot of talking in my stories and not a lot of action descriptions, and so I made the conscious decision to write this story without a single direct quote. Hope you liked it.
