Truth

-Son Akito

He wondered what would happen if he was able to tell the truth.

How he longed to tell...

Yet, there was a pressure in the back of his mind, telling him that it was better that he kept is a secret...That if he told them who he really was...

It could ruin things.

Kratos leaded over, watching Lloyd as he laughed with his friends. It pained him to hear the young man laugh.

...His laugh didn't change a bit.

As the father watched his son talk, a sadness swept over him. Kratos knew that he could never embrace his son in the way a father should.

That pressure was telling him that he had things to do, and to bring up such a matter...

...Would make him want to stay.

"Kratos," he blinked out of his thoughts and looked down at teenager that was before him, "Would you mind training with me?" He lowered his head down a bit and rubbed the back of his head, "I mean...if you want."

"Sure," He looked into Lloyd's light brown eyes.

They reminded him of her.

"Alright," Lloyd smiled and pointed behind him, "Let's go this way, so we aren't bothered."

Kratos followed behind Lloyd deep into the forest. He watched his son walk; his hair whooshing back and forth from the wind, the way the two white cloths flowed behind him. He walked straight and proud.

The father never noticed this feature in Lloyd in the beginning, and liked to think he had something to do with that.

Yet, that pressure in his mind told him to stop feeling anything for the teen. That angels didn't deserve to have families.

Plus...he knew what was up ahead, and knew that Lloyd would never forgive him for it.

Kratos wondered if the pain would ever stop. He wished that he was able go back those fourteen years ago and live happily.
There was no way to erase the past.

"How about here?" Lloyd turned around to face Kratos, "I think we have enough space."

He looked around, before shaking his head in agreement.

"Get in fighting stance," Kratos command, as Lloyd whipped out his swords and stood before him.

"You are wide open..."

"Oh," Lloyd looked down to see if he could figure out the flaw in his stance, it took him a while until he figured it out.

"How about this," He corrected his mistake.

Kratos nodded his head.

"Kratos," Lloyd lowered his sword and took a step towards him, "I just wanna say, thanks. I never had someone to teach me things like you do."

Kratos turned red in embarrassment, "Well, I'm not that great of a teacher since I do not fight with two swords."

Lloyd titled his head a little and smiled at him, "Sure you are," Lloyd stuck his swords into the ground and leaded forward, "Ya know, I've always wanted to have a big brother to play swords with...But I guess you are a little too old to be my brother."

He didn't know what to say to that, it killed a little bit of his soul that he was unable to tell Lloyd what he really was to him.

Kratos was afraid that he would get too close to the young man, but it couldn't be helped. He just had to help him some how.

The future won't have sweet memories like this...

Kratos continued his lesson with Lloyd, he knew what would happen soon, and he knew that Lloyd may never want to see him again.

But he had to near Lloyd now, because the father in him needed his son.
