Hey there! This is my first time writing a real fanfiction for Free!, so I hope you enjoy it. This chapter is from Haruka's POV. Just as a note, the characters are older now, so they live either alone or with love interest, and they have all moved but stayed in Iwatobi.

I stared at the clock empty-mindedly, watching the second hand spin rapidly across the face.

I then suddenly snapped back into reality, returning to the meal in front of me that was on the verge of burning. I flipped the mackerel quickly, adding a bit more seasoning, and then once again stared at the clock.

15 more minutes... 15 more minutes until I can go home...

I sighed and closed my eyes, shaking my head to clear my mind. If I don't focus on cooking, the food will come out different, and not half as good. I revert my attention back to the fish I was cooking, shifting it slightly in the pan and hearing the juices sizzle. Smiling slightly, I looked over to the plate that assistant chef brought over, which had a small pile of grilled vegetables on it.

"Thank you," I said quietly, and he nodded and walked away.

I slid the mackerel onto the plate carefully, garnished it, and handed it to a waitress, who delivered it to the final customer of the day. I sighed in relief at the thought that I may go home earlier than I previously predicted. Gathering my things as quickly as possible, I nodded a quick goodbye to everyone in the kitchen and began walking home. I waved to the emerald-eyed fireman that I often see eating in the dining area, and he smiled and waved back. Before I even realized, I'd reached my front door. I slid the door open, stepping inside and taking off my shoes with a contented sigh. I drift slowly into the house, moving slowly into and around the kitchen to make myself a small dinner.

Once the aforementioned deed is done, I go into my backyard, which has a small private beach. I look around nervously, then awkwardly strip myself down until I am wearing only my swimsuit. Taking one last look around to make sure no one will see me, I run straight into the water and and dive into the darkness. I feel my legs morph, which is still a strange feeling, albeit painless. When the odd feeling ceases, I look down too the all to familiar blue fin, which makes me smile. Home at last...

I swim happily throughout the night, enjoying the feeling of the water pulsing around my body, and eventually falling into a deep sleep in the dark depths, where I know no one will find me.

Thank you for reading and I hope to update soon! Comments are very appreciated! ^^
