The Legend Of Zelda:
Guardian of Time
Chapter 1
Link awoke to his name being called. He poked his head through the window and saw his mentor Dalen. He brandished a wooden sword. "Hey Link!" he shouted, "I got this for you in Castle Town!" he said. Link nodded and pulled his head back inside the house. He climbed down the several ladders and then exited the house that was bored out of a tree like all the houses in Falon village. He walked to Dalen and looked up the extra half a foot he needed to see his face. The forty-five year old Hylian's orange hair and facial hair were beginning to grey. His eyes hadn't changed. Link still couldn't help but look at the left eye which was glazed over and had a scar over it. Dalen had told Link it ws an old war wound he had sustained when he was in the Hylian army. He always joked, 'I was the bravest soldier in the Hylian army'. Dalen smiled at Link. "Well Link like I promised. Your own sword. Granted you're going to get an actual sword but that'll take me about a month to make. Anyways, store that in a safe place. Afterward Leah's been wanting to see you. She looked really distraught. Anyway…I'll see you later." The old man smiled and began walking away. Link turned and walked into his house and set the wooden sword on the table. After he did, he turned and walked out of his house and began walking to Leah's house. Leah was just walking out. She wore the village colors, white and green, her dress was white and the leggings she wore were a light green. Her hair was dark brown and her eyes were a stunning green. The same shade of green the leaves of the forest were. She turned from shutting her door and saw him. "Oh Link!" she said happily, "I was just on my way to see you! You know the necklace I always wear? A monkey took it from me! Can you believe it? A monkey! Anyway…Link I was wondering if you'd….get it back for me?" Link smiled softly, "Of course I will." He said. Leah's eyes widened, "R-really? You will?" She hugged Link suddenly. "Oh thank you Link!" she said happily, "I last saw the monkey off by the goat pasture. Hurry, who knows where it'll be next." Link turned and ran down the short road and turned right so he was headed to the Goat Pasture. As he passed Amon the Goat Shepherd's house he heard Amon call his name. "Hey bud." He said, "If you're heading to the pasture, I wouldn't try it. There's this crazy monkey hanging around who throws acorns at people if they get too close. He even looks like he's got Leah's necklace." "I told Leah I'd get her necklace back." "Really?" Amon said, "Well I guess that's just like you. Always trying to do what others say can't be done. Well the only tip I can really give you is that he won't get close so you'll have to stun him somehow. Well anyways. Good luck bud. If you manage to get that pesky ape out of here I'll be much obliged." Link nodded and ran to the edge of the pasture to stalk the monkey.
