A small black tom pushed his way through heather and grass, making his way towards high stones in the distance. Two-leg nests lay in clumps here and there, connected by hard black thunder paths. He shivered at the thought of the monsters that prowled them.

Just as the tom reached the thunder path, a monster squealed by him throwing up a wave of filthy rainwater leftover from the day before. The small black cat jumped back, just managing to avoid getting soaked in the disgusting liquid. Near shaking, the tom looked both ways, pressing his ear to the rough black stone, and sprinted across. Glad to have it over, he padded away from the thunder path.

Trekking across the uneven ground, he finally reached high stones. Mothermouth gapped open into a dark abyss. Taking a deep breath the black tom entered the darkness.

After what seemed like moons of walking in cramped darkness, the black tom emerged in a cave. The moon had not yet reached the hole in the roof, so the tom lay down in wait. As soon as the moon was above the hole, a stone in the center of the cave was bright with an unearthly glow. The black tom blinked several times, letting his eyes get used to the sudden brightness and then lay down beside the stone. He pressed his nose into the cold stone and immediately was cast into utter darkness. When he opened his eyes, he was standing on a grassy hill overlooking a hollow. Four enormous oaks stood rigid in the center, their great limbs waving in the wind.

The black tom noticed a sandy colored she-cat sitting beside him waiting for the dark tom to take notice of her. Once they made eye contact, the she-cat spoke. "Greetings, Ravenstar, welcome to StarClan. What is troubling you?"

Ravenstar shook his head. "I came to see Feathercloud. Is she here?"

The sandy she-cat nodded and meowed, "I thought so, Ravenstar."

"Yes, okay, but is Feathercloud here?" Ravenstar growled.

Suddenly a graceful silver tabby pranced from behind them. "I am here, love."

Ravenstar swiftly whirled around, rubbing his jaw against the silver tabby. "Feathercloud…" he murmured.

"Ravenstar, I am sorry that I had to leave. How are the kits?" the silver tabby meowed.

"They are fine, my love. I have left them with Lilypelt to care for. I wanted to name them together so I came here."

The silver tabby nodded and flicked her tail. "Follow me."

Feathercloud led the black tom over the crest of the hill, and down towards the four oaks. A pool of water lay at her feet, and she stopped abruptly causing Ravenstar to slam into her. "Sorry," he muttered.

Feathercloud giggled and touched the water with her nose. "Look," she mewed.

In the pool Ravenstar could see three kits curled up in the curve of a gray and white she-cat's belly. Feathercloud purred at the sight. "Let's name the silver and black one Rainkit."

"All right can we name the black one Spiderkit and the… the silver tabby Featherkit?" Ravenstar asked hopefully.

"Yes, let's do that," Feathercloud replied.

"I love you Feathercloud," Ravenstar murmured.

"And I love you…" Feathercloud agreed.
