The Dragon Empress

                            By Spirit of the Pegasus

I'm new to ff.net, and this is my first fic. My older sis, CCPheonix, got me into writing stories. I would like to dedicate this fic to her. I'm not a big anime fan but think it's kinda cool and I'm not brilliant at writing stories but ill give it my best shot. I have invented a new character called Empress Phoenix, based on dragons as I like them and I named her after my sister. Well, I better stop babbling and get on with it!

Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-gi-oh so don't sue!

Birth of a dragon

Empress Phoenix travelled all day and finally found Dragon Mountain. The Mountain lied to the Far East of the palace and was the common breeding ground for all dragons. On the island. Deep within, dragons of all kinds nurtured their hatchlings, all except one. A beam of light shone through the crack in the mountain onto a single egg.

"We must look after you now, your mother died honourably."

The empress spoke calmly as she picked up the egg. She left the mountain and climbed upon her Dragon. Without a word the Dragon rose into the air.

Back in the Palace she wrapped the egg in silk and placed it by the fire.

"The empress fingered her pendant.

"May the two lady's spare your life. Please bring us hope."

Suddenly a noise within startled her. The egg shook softly. A crack formed in the egg as a head poked through. The shell cracked and crumbled as the small body followed. It's scaled glowed red and orange, the eyes a deep gold. The empress stroked its head.

"A fired Dragon, one I shall name Blaze."

"My Lady."

A tall thin man approached her and bowed. H wore a dark green robe and a black cloak. Hs eyes were dark and evil.

"Yes Afra?"

"The young Pharaoh, Yami is here to see you my lady"

"Ah, Yami my young friend. Ill be there in am moment."

"Would you like to take care of the baby dragon?"

The empress missed the evil tone in his voce.

"Yes. Put him in the nursery will you?"

She walked out with a smile on he face. Afra walked to the window and held the Dragon high. The moonlight shone brightly against the scales of the baby dragon.

"Yes you are full of spirit. I may have use for you yet!"

His evil laugh carried through the window and made all those that heard it shiver.

Well? Did you, like it? R&R please!
