Prologue

The cab driver yelled, he was the bad mood kind. Eric held Melissa arm. Had been a longtime scene with the two of them frozen in the middle of the sidewalk. It was like some dramatic movie scene – where just exist the couple, the depressive rain and the feeling that make us burst into tears. If at least wasn't a adorable sunny day, filled by stubborn and energetic kids running everywhere, their mothers talking noisily accompanied by the tumult of cars, street sellers and all the vivacity of a city in the rush hour of the day.

"Stay" Eric touched her cheek. The old and impatient man in the car grumbled something. Melissa's heart sank. She couldn't tell him the truth. Tenderly she placed her arms round him.

"Isn't a goodbye, I promise" Melissa whispered in his ear. But even she wasn't sure about this, however, she needed to try – They themselves had to believe that someday they'd stay together, since nobody was able to do.

" You're killing me. Just think in be separated of you. All these seconds of hesitation are gradually consuming me. I'll die without you and you know that."

"You're not going to die." Melissa stepped backward. She was making a strong effort to seem confident. "I'd never forgive you if you did so."

"And what about me forgiving you?" Eric gazed straight at her. A strand of his hair slipped loose with the wind, falling in his face. He seemed desolate. Melissa glanced nervously at the cab searching a way to avoid Eric's eyes.

"I do not expect forgiveness." Melissa took a deep breath before pushing up de the door. She threw herself into the cab. "Please, go!"

"Melissa!" Eric shouted. He tried to grab the door, but it had already driven away. He watched as the cab receded in the distance. A sick felling overcame him as he realized she was gone. For real. He sat down on the sidewalk, leaning his head on the knees.

What would he do now?
