Edward's copper-colored hair danced right in front of my eyes as he ran swiftly through the forest, with me on his back. I clutched his shirt tighter, and deeply inhaled his sickly sweet scent; it was like a drug to me.

"Having fun?" he asked as a slick grin appeared on his face. It momentarily dazed me, and a rough chuckle slipped through his lips at my 'dazzled' expression.

"Maybe," I said, out of breath as I greedily wrapped my arms around his neck tighter. The pure speed was making me dizzy, and our surroundings whirled together in a colorful blur. I rested my head on his right shoulder, shivering in pleasure as his cool cheek touched mine. I didn't want this moment to end.

I snapped out of my trance when The Meadow came into view. Birds flew around, chirping to each other. Wildflowers dotted the grassy ground, and a squirrel dashed up the tree as Edward pranced through, scaring away the rest of the animals. He turned his head to smile sheepishly at me.

He gently set me down, slowly and with careful precision, as if one wrong move would cause me to break into a million little pieces. I flopped down on my back; a second later Edward was right beside me. His smoldering, honey eyes were liquid and, as I stared into the depth of them, a twinkle graced them.

I entwined our fingers together, and he held our hands up to his mouth, gently kissing my smooth skin. His lips were soft and smooth, and I tried to contain a sigh when he pulled away. I knew he had to, but I never WANTED him to.

I'm not sure how long we stayed like this. Finally, Edward moved, for the practically the first time since we had arrived here. The stone statue he had become sat up, and pulled me with him.

His eyes flickered to the dimming light in the sky. "I think we should head back. It's getting dark," he observed as he hitched up on his back. I let out a quiet groan, and his body shook with silent laughter.
