Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Titans.
While thinking about The End Part 1, I came up with this. Think about it; let me know what you thought. From Beast Boy's POV. Not a prequel to In The End. The musings of the insaneare often quite sane...
:T:
I don't get it.
As Trigon roars, free at last to bring about the end of our world, I stare.
Why? Why did Raven just- give in?
He turns, hateful red eyes looking at us, and smiles. Evilly, of course. And I can only watch as he moves to kill us.
:T:
Why?
:T:
We had known that the end of the world was coming- we knew it, deep in our hearts. As each day passed, the tension and fear in the pits of our stomachs grew, and so we took precautions, stupidly trying to prevent what had to come. Trying to convince ourselves that we didn't need to worry.
Fools, all of us.
Raven knew it; though she didn't know of our 'plans' and 'safe rooms', she went about her life as she had always done, with one exception. Her eyes were sad; sadder than I had ever seen them. Ignoring what may have happened the next day, I tried to make her smile. That had been my one goal; the one thing I would never see happen now.
Raven had fought it. She tried, so incredibly hard, to escape what they said was 'Destiny'. She fought and hoped, believing that there might be one last option they had missed in their search. We had all done our best, and I think she appreciated it. But after fighting so hard, ever since we found out about her history, her acceptance of Slade's demands was shocking.
How could she give up on everything?
On us?
On lifeā¦
Was it because she thought that Trigon would win, regardless? Did Raven truly believe that her willing transformation into the portal might save us?
No, Raven.
We couldn't stop you, but you couldn't stop our concern, and fear, for you.
That's what friends do, right?
