Rush sat on the bar stool, waiting. He was always waiting. His owner, Ren, had once again left to go back to the Second Zone. It upset him. He wanted to be near Ren at all times, but that stupid Kiato had to steal him.
"Rush-sama!" Someone had called.
Rush turned around to see who it was. No one was looking at him, so he lowered his vision..
"Oh… It's just you, Nata." Rush glared at the little boy.
"Rush-sama! Quick hide me!" Nata screamed, looking behind him.
Suddenly, the bar doors slammed open and the little boy hid behind Rush. A group of large, built up men walked in, looking around. Then they spotted Rush.
"You! Where's the kid?" One of the menacing looking men asked. Rush just stared at him.
This pissed the man off to no end. He walked up to Rush and grabbed him of the collar.
"We know he's here. Now be good and tell me where he is." The man said right to Rush's face.
Rush growled and grabbed onto the man's wrist.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
The muscular man threw Rush across the room into a near by table. Nata screamed. The man grabbed the little boy and started to walk away. Rush quickly jumped in front of them, pointing his sword at the man. He laughed.
"You're got to be kidding me, get him boys."
Rush's eyes widened. The group slowly moved him into a corner and started laughing.
"We're going to have fun with you, Puppy."
In the "Second Zone", Ren and Kiato were walking home from school when Ren suddenly stopped. Kiato turned around and looked at his friend.
"What's wrong, Ren?"
He didn't answer for the longest time, but when he did finally talked, his voice was shaking.
"We need to go in the game."
Rush had been beaten within an inch of his life. He was lying on the bar floor, blood surrounding his body. His vision was blurry and his hearing was muffled. All the pain was gone, he was fully numb. Muffled footsteps made him tense up, fearing that the gang came back for more. Then gentle hands touched his back. Rush's eyes twitched and soon tears fell.
When Kiato and Ren walked through the doors to the bar, shock zoomed through them both. Tables, pushed down and into corners. Rush's sword sticking out of the bar table. Blood on the walls and Rush's body crumbled underneath the stain.
"Rush!" Ren screamed, running over to his dog.
