When I'm Back On My Feet Again

The teenager burst through the door, a look of pure terror on his face.

"Child, what is it?" the old wizard asked.

"Headmaster, I have made a horrible mistake!" he cried.

Gonna break these chains around me

Gonna learn to fly again

May be hard, may be hard

But I'll do it

When I'm back on my feet again

"Headmaster, I wish to atone for my sins." the young man stated.

"Will you remain in the Dark to work for the Light?" the headmaster asked.

"Yes, Headmaster." the young man vowed as he bowed his head.

Soon these tears will all be dry and

Soon these eyes will see the sun

Might take time, might take time

But I'll see it

When I'm back on my feet again

His right hand clutched his left forearm. He was being called again.

"I must go, Headmaster."

When I'm back on my feet again

I'll walk proud down the street again

And they'll all look at me again

And they'll see that I'm strong

The young man staggered through the door, dirty and bedraggled.

"Oh child! Can I help?" the old man asked gently.

"No one can. I have news headmaster."

Gonna hear the children laughing

Gonna hear the voices sing

Won't be long, won't be long

Till I hear them

When I'm back on my feet again

The man stood just inside the door. Blood flowed from his lips, from his eyes, from his nose.

"My son, you can't do this. You have paid for your sins."

Gonna feel the sweet light of heaven

Shining down its' light on me

One sweet day, one sweet day

I will feel it

When I'm back on my feet again

"I have much more to do before my vow is fulfilled." the young man said as his blood spilled.

When I'm back on my feet again

I'll walk proud down the street again

And they'll all look at me again

And they'll see that I'm strong

The weary man crawled through the door. His robes were torn and bloody. He was too weak to do more.

"My child! What have they done to you?" the old man cried as he held his broken 'son'.

I'm not gonna crawl again

I will learn to stand tall again

No, I'm not gonna fall again

Cause I'll learn to be strong

The young man lay quietly. The old man gently washed away the blood and smoothed his brow.

"Oh my child. It was too much. You didn't see, you'd done enough. You paid your debt for your mistakes. If only you could have forgiven yourself." the headmaster cried. His 'son' had died.

Soon these tears will all be dry and

Soon these eyes will see the sun

Won't be long, won't be long

Till I see it

When I'm back on my feet again

When I'm back on my feet again

I'll be back on my feet again…
