My Hero
Part 6 of the Draco/Hermione AU
Don't own anything, but words
"Remind me again why I am marrying you?" Hermione asked lazily, twirling a lock of hair, that held more product in a single moment in time than she had in her entire cupboard, around a finger. Draco had decided that today was a 'them' day and had whisked her away from her office in a storm of flower petals, wine and perfume. Hermione was firmly of the opinion that plying her with fine vintages and flowers had it's merits, but was hardly productive in the grand scheme of things. Draco kissed his way down her neck, detouring at her collarbone before pausing to answer.
"Because I am utterly shaggable, and you are tired of living in sin?" His lips tickled her skin as he spoke.
"While true," Hermione considered. "That's not exactly what I was looking for."
"Hm." Draco crossed his hands chastely over her breastbone and put his chin on them. He looked up appealingly through his lashes, something he learned from her. "Think for a moment, who your most likely alternate husband would be."
"Ron?" Hermione ventured.
"Much as I hate to admit it, were my utterly adorable self not here, you would probably be back going out with that red haired gorilla. Now, imagine their hair." Draco said seriously, nodding his head back and forth on his hands. Hermione tried, biting her lip. "Red corkscrews sticking out in a halo. Imagine how much you were teased, and now double it."
"Oh." Hermione said softly, her eyes huge.
"I was merely saving you from yourself." Draco said nobly. "You may now think of me as your knight in shining armor, and worship me accordingly."
Hermione rolled her eyes and laughed, hauling him up to give him a kiss before she murmured in his ear, "Oh, my hero."
"Well, I really did it for the children." Draco said piously, before collapsing on her, stroking her hair out of her eyes to kiss her tenderly.
