The sight of it all was actually painful. The pictures, the banners,
the first loves, everything that had reflected my life at Smallville being
piled into a cardboard box like it didn't even matter. The thought of
moving on was depressing so I quickly left the now empty room. I walked
down stairs to the living room and plopped on the couch. Maybe I should
call Pete, or Chloe, or.Lana. I ran a hand through my hair and stood up
quickly. I ran into the kitchen, anything to take my mind off of
everything, all the madness that had eked its way into my life.
I had about five hours of sleep that night. But the time that I did sleep was absolutely horrible. I had a very life-like dream. It started with me in the living room of some house. Not mine, but on a farm of some sort. Then Lana walked into the room followed by three children, and we were married! I woke up soon after that, but the thought of marrying Lana seemed crazy. We had had so many fights it seemed the 'war wounds' could not be healed. But, my other entire dream's that was that lifelike were actually some sort of the future.
When I woke up I called Pete and told him that I would see him soon, and that I wouldn't forget him once I had moved on to better things. I brought myself to call Chloe and we had a riveting conversation on how we might run into each other in the mere future. She was great, always worrying about me and asking these crazy questions. She even asked me if I had called Lana like she actually cared. I told her yes, I'm not to sure why, maybe I wanted to call her but I couldn't bring myself to it.
After I had eaten my last supper in the Kent house I went on upstairs to get my bag and my old stuff from High School. My father drove me up to the bus stop, asking me if I wanted to stay at home for a couple more days. But I told him "No thanks" and tried to avoid eye-contact with him for the rest of the way. I couldn't delay it much longer.
I would have to go on to Metropolis sometime.
