Lying to Himself
Elias Harper had lied to himself more often than not.
He lied to himself about liking Simon Asher, despite the man being straight.
He lied to himself when he said that he didn't regret failing at Quantico.
He lied about not having a choice too. "I did have a choice," he said, as he stepped out the window before Alex Parrish could stop him.
He lied to himself one last time, believing he had no choice.
Maybe this lie would be worth it. Maybe he would believe this one.
