Disclaimer: I don't own any CSI: NY characters, but the original characters are mine. To be familiar with my original characters I would recommend you read my other stories. They are from "Next Door Neighbor," "Here For a Visit," "Babysitter," "Basketball," and "Meet the Family."
Summary: Don tells Danny about his crazy week.
Don ordered a beer as he approached Danny at the end of the bar. Danny looked up at Don as he sat down on a stool next to him.
"You alright?" Danny asked.
"You are not gonna believe the week I've had." Don took a long drink of his beer.
"Try me." Danny replied and looked at his friend.
"Alright you asked. We'll start at the beginning. Sunday, of course you know we went to your parents and Alex was there. That was weird. She was cool, though; she didn't seem like she resented me too much for our break-up. Plus she brought that guy, so it seemed she's really moved on."
"Did you guys talk?"
"Yeah, a little. She basically told me she doesn't hate me, but that I hurt her. Anyway that was only the beginning." He paused and sipped his beer again. "Monday, I was with Stella and we were coming out of a Starbucks on Lexington after we had just finished talking to someone's alibi. When we walked out I saw Sarah. She was walking toward us and, of course, our eyes met and she stopped. She was nice too, but kind of fake. I think she hates me. She told me that Mike really misses playing basketball and she told me he plays down at the Rucker. That conversation was about as awkward as the one with Alex."
"How'd she look, though?" Danny smiled.
"She looked good, really good," Don laughed. "So, then Wednesday I saw Ava when I was leaving the lab late. She looked good, too. But she avoided me- walked right past and didn't say a word. I can't blame her I was kind of a jerk to her."
"Didn't you guys only go out just twice?"
Don smirked. "Yeah, I just didn't call her again. I was a jerk."
"Yeah you were."
"I'm not finished. Wednesday, when I was coming over to your place I got stuck in the elevator with Jane. That wasn't really that bad because we never really went out. We just hung out a couple times, but mostly as friends. So, seeing her wasn't too weird. We talked a little about babysitting and just small talk."
"Is that it?" Danny asked.
"Oh, no. Thursday, I saw Casey. She was at the lab meeting Lindsay for lunch. It was weird. She didn't say much, mostly 'hi, how are you.' I feel really bad about her. You know it was mostly mutual with her. I didn't dump her and she didn't really dump me; we just kind of agreed to call it quits." Danny opened his mouth to say something else; Don held up his hand to stop him. "No, no there's one more. Today, on the way here I saw Becca. She was walking out of here with some guy when I was walking in. Actually it was her fiancé. I told her congratulations and that was the end of that. It wasn't too bad."
Danny just laughed and said, "geez man."
"I know. There's eight million people in New York City and I have to see every ex-girlfriend I've had in the past couple years in one week. Seriously, what are the odds of that?" He sucked down the rest of his beer. "This was a weird week."
"Are you gonna tell Paige?"
"I don't know. She might actually think it's pretty funny." Don laughed.
