Hey Guys, i thought i would try something new since this pair isn't seen very much. I just think Cosette and Enjolras would be an adorable couple, and yes, there will be some Marius/Eponine in here for you Team Eponine fans :) The prologue is very important to the whole of the story, so please read it first. I hope you enjoy it and give me some feedback. Thanks for reading! Disclaimer: unfortunately Victor Hugo owns these characters:(
Prologue:
Cosette POV:
"Cosette Valjean will die an old maid!" Annabelle's words rang in my ear all day during school. Perhaps she is right. I ran home crying to my papa longing for his embrace and comforting words of love. When I got there, I found that he was nowhere to be seen so I ran up to my room and cried on my bed for God knows how long. "Cosette, where are you?" "In here, Papa," I yelled back. He came in and his face looked as if his heart broke in two. He sat me on his lap as he said ,"Oh Cosette, what's wrong?"
"A-Annabelle, a girl from school was talking about weddings today with her friends. They w-were going on about what their dresses will look like, their hair, make up and who their grooms will be. I said that it doesn't matter how grand a wedding is so long as you marry our one true love. Annabelle laughed in my face as she said 'Cosette, you're so ugly, no man will ever love you. You're going to die an o-old maid' "
I sobbed harder into my papa's shoulder. He grabbed my face and said,"Cosette Elizabeth Valjean, look at me. You are thirteen years young. You are a beautiful girl who has a bright future ahead of her. I can see you getting married to a young handsome lad who will treat you like a precious jewel. There is something very important that you should save for that man as well."
"What's that, Papa?" I asked.
"Your purity. I would recommend you save every piece of your heart for that one special man. It will be a touch road, my girl, but it will be all worth it. You understand?"
I nodded eagerly.
"Good. " he said.
He fixed us supper and we said our prayers before we went to bed. I asked God to show me who this special man could be. Little did I know that I would get an immediate reply.
I had a very strange dream that night. I was walking through the slums of Paris over by the Café Musain. I looked over by the café and saw a man waving a French flag standing on top of a barricade made of furniture and other rubbish. I looked up at the man and he had the most dazzling chocolate brown eyes I've ever seen. His curly blonde hair looked so inviting, I just wanted to play with it so badly. His face looked stern it almost scared me. It was as if he was saying "I will not rest until France is free."
I wonder why he looked so cold-hearted. Then a voice said to me "I have shown you this man because there is a very special girl who will soften this man's heart and teach him how to love."
I asked the voice, "Who is this girl?"
"You, Cosette. You will be that girl." The voice replied.
"When?"
The voice laughed and said, "In time my dear girl. Remember the words of your father,"
"I will. I promise,"
