Eight-year-old Billy Blaze had defeated the Vorticons, saved kids from veggies, saved his baby-sitter, had freed the elders from the Shadowlands and had gone on to defeat the Armegeddon machine, etc, etc. Now he had one final mission. One night, as he was watching T.V. with his parents, a news flash came on. Some scientests had discovered the tenth planet. They hadn't named it yet. But as the reporter babbled on, Keen was suddenly pulled into a black hole! Suddenly he found himself not in his living room, but on a barren, rocky surface. An alien rushed up. He had a round body, eight spider-like legs, and a square head with a diamond-shaped eye.
"Captain Keen, we are the tenth planet, Tibus Haze. You must find the Shield of Planetarium to shield our planet so your kind doesn't take over Tibus Haze! We will be put in those things called zoos and our planet will be wrecked."
"Find it yourself!" Billy gasped.
"We can't! We've been taken over by the creatures of our neighbor planet, Jimmius Zak. They want to ally with the humans and will prevent us from getting the Shield!"
"So how can I help if they are so dangerous?"
"You are so experienced, and you have such great weapons, Captain Keen"
"Commander Keen!" Billy snapped. "If you call me Captain Keen once more I'll let the creatures of Jimmius Zak take over..."
"No, Commander Keen!"
"Thank you." Billy smiled smugly. He said, "I don't have my ray gun or helmet, though. Or my pogo stick!"
A black hole opened up, showing Billy's room. Billy reached through the helmet and grabbed his pogo stick, ray gun, and helmet, all located conveniently near the bed. The alien--who called himself Eek, one of the Joops, pulled out a list of enemies.
From left to right:
"Round birds" said Eek, "Look innocent, but they can squish you! Geometrics will throw burning PI symbols (kind of look like your lowercase letter N) until you burn up! Progos are big flying eyes. When they touch you you will freeze in place and then crumble and die! Glitches are bad! When they shoot a floppy disk at you, you will be hit TOO hard and will die! Grayghosts are annoying, they can attract any enemy to you if you touch them or it touches you. Lightning bolts will bounce up and down, don't let them hit you. All of these can be shot except the glitches and bolts!"
"There are also pick-ups, but you must find them. Just DON'T pick up black seeds! You will be pulled into a deadly black hole." continued Eek.
"Okay." Keen said. Eek directed him to a shiney mettalic dome with a glowing door. Keen jumped into Spring City.
